The Ministry of Finance of Mongolia has published a comprehensive research report titled Gender-Responsive Taxation Impact Assessment in Mongolia, co-authored by Namuunaa Mungun, Munkhshur Chimed, and Enkhbat Baasandorj, with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The report reveals critical insights into how Mongolia’s personal income tax system disproportionately affects women, particularly female-headed households and low-income earners. It assesses gender biases embedded in tax policies and administration and proposes practical, evidence-based recommendations to improve fairness, efficiency, and compliance. This publication marks a major step forward in integrating gender perspectives into fiscal policy and promoting inclusive economic development.
