Since 2020, with support of the European Union, the Government of Mongolia has been implementing the “Budget Support for Employment Reforms in Mongolia” (Budget Support) programme. The programme aims to support the Government of Mongolia in advancing employment creation and public finance management reforms and improving the public finance transparency in the country.
The programme is closely aligned with the objectives of Mongolia's long-term development strategy "Vision-2050", which aims to enhance human development and living standards to establish a society characterized by a strong middle class, ensuring sustainable economic growth that benefits all citizens.
In December 2023, the Government of Mongolia received the fourth disbursement of EUR 6.1 million. With this transfer, a total of EUR 38.5 million (130.8 billion MNT) of direct transfers for Budget Support (non-refundable grants) have been provided so far by the European Union to the Government of Mongolia.
