A joint consultative meeting between the Government of Mongolia and the development partners was successfully organized in Ulaanbaatar on December 2, 2016.
At the consultative meeting, representatives from 21 Ambassadors and Leaders of Mongolia, representatives from 19 international banks and financial institutions, members of Parliament and members of the Government of Mongolia, non-governmental organizations and other agencies participated in this consultation.
Prime Minister J.Erdenebat officially opened a joint consultative meeting between the Government of Mongolia and the development partners under the "Cooperation for Sustainable Development". It emphasizes the importance of the Prime Minister of Mongolia to increase productivity and efficiency by expanding the economy, increasing investment and introducing advanced technologies to overcome the current economic difficulties in a short period of time, stabilize the economy and promote further growth. In addition, the Government introduced a program to intensify the economic stimulus program to overcome short-term economic difficulties and to emphasize the importance of the government to cooperate with partner countries and international banks and financial institutions to successfully implement the program.
At the consultative meeting, Minister of Finance B.Khoyilsuren presented the current economic situation of Mongolia and the Government's project to cooperate with policymakers and development partners on economic stabilization and restoration projects and development partners. Representative of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mongolia, Nile Sucker, presented the global and regional economic situation and expressed its position on the impact of the Mongolian economy.
In the second half of the meeting, the Government briefed on the development medium and long term policies and priorities, exchanged views on how to support and cooperate with development partners within the framework of the Sustainable Development Concepts of Mongolia and the Action Plan of the Government Action Program. Furthermore, an open forum on sustainable economic growth, diversification of economy, employment and private sector support.
The consultative meeting was held by Vice Minister of Finance of Mongolia Kh.Bulganuya, Director of the World Bank of Mongolia Bert Hofman, Country Director of the United Nations Mongolia Batehan Trankman, and Country Director of the Asian Development Bank, Mongolia, Yannanda Fernandez Lomann.
As a result of the meeting, the Government defined the sector, direction and scope of cooperation with the development partners of the economy and the mid-term and long-term Government policy. The Government of Mongolia and development partners jointly announced the development partners to support the Government's policies and targets.
