MENDSAIKHAN Zagdjav

Minister of Finance of Mongolia

Mr. Mendsaikhan Zagdjav was appointed as Member of Cabinet and Minister of Finance of Mongolia on April 3, 2026, and has been serving as a Member of Parliament since 2024.

 

He previously served as Advisor to the President of Mongolia on Urban and Rural Development in 2024, and as Member of Parliament and Chair of the Standing Committee on Budget from 2020 to 2024. His other senior roles include Advisor to the Prime Minister (2022–2023), Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industries (2020–2022).

 

Mr. Mendsaikhan also has strong demonstrated experience working in executive level positions in other public agencies and ministries, including Government Agency for Policy Coordination on State Property, where he served as the Director General (2019–2020), State Secretary at the Ministry of Energy (2016–2019), and Director General of the Public Investment Department at the Ministry of Finance (2015–2016). Earlier in his career, he held various leadership positions in the private sector from 2001 to 2014.

 

He holds a Master of Public Administration from the National Academy of Governance (2008) and a Bachelor of Business Analysis and Economics from the University of Finance and Economics of Mongolia (2001).
